Ryanair hand luggage allowance

Any passenger can bring into the cabin of the aircraft a personal item no larger than 45 cm x 25 cm x 20 cm.

Ryanair cabin bag allowance

Since January 2018, Ryanair baggage allowance hardened and only passengers who have booked “Priority & 2 Cabin” are entitled to bring a carry-on baggage into the aircraft. Restrictions for this item are up to 10kg of weight with maximum dimensions of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. Any piece not fulfilling the previous limitations will be placed in the cargo hold area and the passenger will have to pay a fee of 50€ (plus VAT in domestic flights).

Ryanair checked baggage allowance

Only Plus ticket holders are entitled to have 1 piece of checked luggage for free, but any passenger can purchase additional units of baggage up to 3, with a weight restriction of 20 kg. per item.

The price of each unit of additional baggage goes from 25-35€ per journey (if the passenger purchases it in the moment of booking his/her seat) to 40€ (if the passenger purchases it after booking his/her seat).

Ryanair excess baggage policy

If a passenger exceeds the baggage allowance, an excess baggage fee will apply. The price for extra luggage per checked bag is €11 per extra kilogram.

Ryanair musical instruments policy

Ryanair allows musical instruments up to 55cm x 40cm x 20cm in the cabin if the passenger books an extra seat for it. To book an extra seat for an item, last name should be ‘ITEM SEAT’ and ‘EXTRA’ as the first name. ‘EXTRA ITEM SEAT’ will then be shown in your booking and on the online boarding pass the details must match the passenger’s document.

Larger musical instruments are transported in the cargo hold area and have a fee of 50€ if the passenger purchases it while making the booking or 65€ if purchases it after. Ryanair charges any instrument heavier than 20 kg. with the excess baggage fee too.
