ELTA international shipping: services and prices
The Greek postal service offers deliveries to many European countries either through their letter mail service or parcel shipping. The price of shipping with the Hellenic Post or ELTA depends on the weight of the parcel and the country of destination.
Hellenic post and mail services
Through the Hellenic Post, it is possible to send letters and envelopes with a maximum weight up to 2 Kg domestically and internationally. Prices will range from 0.90€ to 7.40€ for domestic services and from 1€ to 26€ for international post. Additional services such as cash on delivery or tracking are available and should be paid for separately to the company.
ELTA courier services: parcel shipping
ELTA divided the destination countries into different areas, for which different prices apply, and offers parcel shipping services for packages weighing up to 20Kg. All packages weighing more than 2Kg are collected and delivered only to ELTA’s Agencies unless an extra fee is paid for.

What is the “porta porta ELTA” service?
Porta porta ELTA service is the key domestic courier service offered by ELTA Courier. It is a door-to-door service. This ELTA shipping service provides home deliveries for parcels up to 35kg both in Greece and abroad. Within the “porta porta” ELTA scheme the Hellenic post offers next-day domestic deliveries for certain Greek cities and same-day delivery for parcels delivered within the same city.

Can I ship cargo with ELTA?
Currently, ELTA transport options do not include cargo shipping. You can use our online platform to book LTL, FTL and pallet shipping in a few steps.
Does ELTA offer Saturday deliveries?
Yes, ELTA offers deliveries on the weekend for certain routes and package sizes. Please note that ELTA Saturday deliveries are only available within certain areas or mainland Greece and that the ELTA prices for these services are higher than for standard ones. Can I ship to Europe with ELTA?

What is the difference between the Hellenic Post and ELTA Courier?
ELTA Courier is a daughter company of the Hellenic Post (ELTA). It was founded in 2000, and it focuses on providing courier services in Greece and abroad, operating as an independent company.
Am I entitled to ELTA package insurance?
The company’s responsibility for loss or damage has a certain limit for the “porta porta ELTA” service, depending on the type of the shipment. You can also get insurance through the Declared Value service, for shipments of high value.

When will I get my ELTA tracking number?
When you book a shipment with the Hellenic Post you will get your ELTA tracking number on the mail. If you drop off your parcel at an ELTA pickup point you will be given the tracking number with your shipment confirmation.

Does Elta ship to the UK after Brexit?
After the 1st of January 2021, the UK will leave the EU’s single market and customs union. However, it will still be possible to ship packages and cargo to the UK after Brexit. The shipments may take longer and certain goods can be subject to VAT or import chargers.
