HOW YOU CAN SHIP
GLS offers a series of international shipping services in Europe and overseas. If you decide to book shipping directly through GLS, you will have to introduce the details of your shipment on their webpage and choose whether you want it shipped to a home address or a GLS parcel shop. When using the GLS international shipping services the maximum parcel weight is 31.5kg. Some of the domestic and international shipping services GLS offers include:
GLS offers some express delivery services to send urgent packages in some European countries. We recommend you check your route before booking GLS express shipping.
GLS Parcel shops are the points where one can drop off or receive a GLS parcel for collection or delivery purposes. In general, GLS Parcel Shops are convenient for those who cannot wait for a courier during business hours. If you cannot physically go to a GLS parcel shop or need to book a service outside GLS routes you can check our website. When booking services through Eurosender and when the assigned courier company is GLS, the parcel will be picked up at your doorstep and delivered to the final address.
When you book a GLS shipping service you will get a GLS tracking number, allowing you to know your parcel’s location and shipping status. The GLS tracking number will be activated the first time the parcel is scanned by the courier driver and it’s updated every time the parcel reaches a new depot. If you ship overseas you will get a GLS international tracking number, that works as a domestic one. You can follow the transit of your package by inserting the GLStracking number in our tracking tool or on the GLS website directly.
NEED MORE INFORMATION?
In case your GLS tracking number does not work, please note that there are a few factors that might influence that. For example, the shipping label may have been damaged or the tracking system has not been updated yet. If you need more information about how does GLS parcel tracking work, don’t hesitate to contact us directly for orders placed on our website.
GLS shipping services work during business hours starting from 9 am to 6 pm. All shipments should be picked up and delivered within this time frame in case you book services via Eurosender platform or directly with GLS. To calculate the estimated time of delivery, you can use the following tool. National deliveries can be done in 24 hours, but may take a bit longer depending on the route. Shipping within the continent can take between 3 and 10 working days depending on the country of origin and the destination.
In some areas or during peak seasons, GLS can also offer deliveries on Saturdays for an extra fee. However, please take into account that we cannot guarantee that GLS will make a delivery on the weekend when booking services on our platform.
Currently, GLS parcel shops and depots are available in 14 countries across Europe. You can surf the GLS website to find GLS parcel shops and depots available in your area. Moreover, GLS depots are also the places where the parcels are transferred, scanned or stored for a few days in case the delivery was not successful. If GLS made an attempted delivery they probably have your parcel stored in one of their depots.
When your shipment is arranged through Eurosender, we take over the entire communication with the courier service provider. If you book directly with GLS you can find the GLS contact number in our Help Center or directly, on their website.
Generally, it is not needed and the GLS courier driver will bring the label and attach it to the parcel. However, there are some exceptions depending on the country of the pick-up. You can contact us if you need more information about the shipping label.
There are many items prohibited or restricted to ship domestically or internationally with GLS and many other logistics companies. Some of the restricted and prohibited items that GLS list includes are:

Once you booked shipping services with Eurosender, our specialists will take over the communication process with the chosen logistics company including GLS. In case any additional information is needed, they will contact you directly via phone or e-mail.
In case you have any more questions about GLS courier services, do not hesitate to contact our team of experienced logistics experts.
Delayed deliveries are not pleasant to experience, but they can occur mostly due to external factors such as traffic jams, weather changes or anything that it is out of courier company’s control.
However, in case it shows in the GLS tracking system that delivery was not successful, this means that the courier made one delivery attempt, but the consignee was not present at the address. In such cases, the courier will come back on the following working day and try to deliver the parcel again.
GLS offers cargo shipping services in North America, Belgium and the Netherlands through a separate freight service. These GLS shipping solutions are available to ship pallets and freight in selected routes. If your route is not covered by the GLS freight shipping services you can book directly with Eurosender and we will find a suited carrier for your requirements.
GLS Courier offers parcel and freight transport in selected states in the West Coast of the US including California, Nevada and New Mexico. However, they do not cover every state.
Although Brexit has a huge impact on shipping and importing goods to and from the UK, sending parcels with GLS to the UK after Brexit is still possible. All parcels will have to go through customs and there might be VAT and other duties and customs charges to pay. If you want more information about sending parcels with GLS or other couriers to the UK after Brexit we recommend you check our helpful Brexit guides.
